Panorama from the National Pass steps at Wentworth Falls. Stiched using AutoStitch - a fantastic automatic stiching program written by a couple of guys at the University of British Columbia. Mightn't look so great shrunk down for display in the blog however :(
Canberra from above
Parliamentary triangle (National Gallery in foreground), Lake Burley Griffin and Black Mountain in the background.
Top
Top of the canopy. The balloon is still horizontal, but is inflated with air (cold at this stage). The 'spoke' arrangement is controlled by guy wires from the basket, and can be used to release hot air from the top of the balloon (to make the balloon descend quickly - usually used just prior to landing).
Inflation
Another ballooning photo. At this stage, the balloon is fully rigged and is being inflated by a fan (just visible at the throat of the canopy).
